The Empty Pot

I created four illustrations for the short story "The Empty Pot" by Demi. The story is about a little boy named Ping who is very good at gardening. One day the emporer gave seeds to all of the children in his kingdom to plant and nourish. The child with the most glorious flower would be the emporer's successor. Ping did everything he could but his seed never grew into a flower. All of the other children had big beautiful flowers to give to the emporer, but Ping gave him an empty pot. Later the emporer announced that he boiled the seeds so none of them should've grown into flowers. The emporer then made Ping his succesor.
